GENEVA, N.Y.—Due to the recent rains, the Hobart College soccer match against Ithaca College on Wednesday, Oct. 3 has been moved from the natural grass of Cozzens Field to the FieldTurf of Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium and start time has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m.
The Statesmen have won back-to-back matches following a 1-0 overtime victory at RIT and a 3-0 win at Bard to improve to 3-4-2 overall. Hobart is tied with St. Lawrence and Skidmore for second place in the Liberty League standings with a 2-0-1 record. Junior
Tristan Cornell Roberts leads the offense with five points on two goals and an assist. The Statesmen are 3-0-0 this season when Cornell Roberts records at least a point. The Hobart defense is led by senior goalkeeper
Alec Kaminer. He's started all nine matches, posting a 3-4-2 record with a 0.75 goals against average and an .860 save percentage.
The Bombers are unbeaten this season and landed at No. 24 in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll. Ithaca is 6-0-3 overall and 0-0-2 in conference. The Bombers have neither conceded nor scored a goal in league play, posting scoreless draws against Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Senior Nate Mansfield has a team-high seven points on three goals and an assist. Sophomore Max Lichtenstein has played every minute in goal for Ithaca and sports a 0.41 GAA and an .852 save percentage.
The match will be the 63rd meeting in a series that dates back to 1953. The Bombers lead the series 39-20-3, but the Statesmen are 7-1-2 in the past 10 matches against Ithaca.
