Megan Barwick was named a 2018 United Soccer Coaches All-American today. She was selected to the second team.
Barwick received second team All-America honors for the second straight year. It is the 48th United Soccer Coaches All-America award earned by a Heron. Barwick is the 11th Heron to earn multiple United Soccer Coaches All-America awards and the first to do so since Whitney Frary '13 earned in 2011 and 2012.
Barwick was an All-Liberty League first team pick. Barwick led William Smith with 10 goals and six assists for 26 points. She produced a team-high four game-winning goals this season. Barwick finished the season tied for the league lead in goals and points. She had a season-high five points on two goals and an assist in a 4-0 win over Ithaca. The then No. 22 Bombers were undefeated and had only allowed three goals entering the contest. Barwick factored into three of William Smith's four goals during the Liberty League Tournament, earning Most Outstanding Player honors.
A two-time first team All-Liberty League selection, Barwick garnered first team all-region recognition on Monday. She was named to 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District team and is a three-time Liberty League All-Academic selection.
In 82 career games, Barwick recorded 25 goals and 14 assists for 64 points. She is 20th on the Heron career list for goals.
Barwick and the Heron Class of 2019 compiled a four-year record of 76-7-3 four-year record (.901), logging the second highest winning percentage by a graduating class. The Class of 2019 earned four straight Liberty League titles and four trips to the NCAA tournament.
The Herons finished 2018 with a 17-3-1 overall record. William Smith was 8-1-0 in the Liberty League and secured its 12th consecutive regular season and tournament titles. It was the 35th consecutive winning season for the Herons.
