ITHACA, N.Y.-The Hobart College tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the Liberty League tournament thanks to a 5-1 victory over St. Lawrence at Cornell's Reis Tennis Center. The Statesmen will take on No. 2 seed Rensselaer tomorrow at 2 p.m.

Third-seeded Hobart (13-6) took a 2-1 lead in the match with wins in the top two doubles spots. Sophomore
Alan Dubrovsky and junior
Jonah Salita swept Eric Tecce and Leo Romanetz in the top spot. With the win, Dubrovsky and Salita are 18-7 on the season with a 12-6 mark in the No. 1 spot. Senior
Harry Nichols and first-year
Walker Anderson gave Hobart a 2-0 lead with an 8-2 victory over Joshua Marvaid and Arman Tavana. Nichols and Anderson are 6-1 as a duo with a 5-1 record at No. 2. St. Lawrence (7-11) earned their lone point of the match with an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.

Junior
Jonathan Atwater notched his 19th win of the season in the No. 3 spot to give Hobart a 3-1 lead in the match. He knocked off Spencer Whitmire 6-0, 6-1. It was Atwater's second 6-0, 6-1 win over Whitmire this season. Dubrovsky bested Tecce 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. Dubrovsky is now 21-7 on the season with a 9-4 record in the top spot. Anderson clinched the overall victory for the Statesmen with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4. Anderson is now 17-6 on the season.

Hobart was up a set in the other three singles matches when play was called because the Statesmen had clinched the match.

Hobart and Rensselaer will meet tomorrow at Cornell's Reis Tennis Center in the second semifinal. The Engineers won the first meeting 6-3 at Tri-City Fitness in Latham, N.Y., on April 7.
