BROCKPORT, N.Y.-The Hobart College football team was defeated 56-7 by sixth-ranked Brockport at Bob Boozer Field this afternoon.

Hobart was limited offensively as the Golden Eagles held the Statesmen to just 124 yards. Brockport gained 517 total yards, including 373 yards through the air.

Ryan Hofmann was 14-25 for 114 yards and a touchdown. He was intercepted two times. Senior

Brockport quarterback Joe Germinerio was 24-27 for 343 yards and three touchdowns. Daquan Hubbard caught eight passes for a game-high 135 yards and a touchdown. Zach Samborski carried the ball 10 times for 60 yards and a touchdown. Tim Terry had a game-high eight tackles.

Hobart fell behind 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Golden Eagles took control of the game from their first play from the line of scrimmage. Germinerio and Alex Benson connected for a 77-yard touchdown reception. The teams traded turnovers on the next two possessions. The Golden Eagles tacked on 21 points in the second quarter to take a 42-0 lead into halftime. Germinerio had two touchdowns through the air and Matt Arita returned an interception for touchdown.

Brockport went up 49-0 when Sambroski ran the ball in from three yards out.

The Statesmen broke the shutout on the ensuing drive. Hofmann hit Woods in the corner of the end zone. The 11 play drive covered 72 yards.

Hobart will make its 2018 Boswell Field debut on Saturday, Sept. 8, when the Statesmen host Morrisville. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
