GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College field hockey team will host Liberty League rival Union College on Saturday, Sept. 29, during HWS Homecoming and Family Weekend. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on McCooey Field.

The Herons are 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the Liberty League. William Smith is looking to rebound from back-to-back losses to nationally-ranked Rochester and Cortland last week. Offensively, the Herons are led by sophomore
Sophie Craig's seven goals and 15 points. Senior
Fallon Adair is second with four goals and nine points. On the defensive end of the field, sophomore
Alexandra DeVito has played the majority of minutes in goal. She is 3-5 with a 3.36 goals against average and a .583 save percentage.
The Dutchwomen (3-4, 0-1) are looking to halt a four-match slide that includes a 3-0 setback to William Paterson on Wednesday. Junior Charlotte Leyland paces the offense with six goals and four assists for 16 points. Sophomore Katie Talacci is second on the team with five goals and 12 points. Goalkeepers Heather Poisson and Mary Beth Rudolf have split time in the cage. Poisson is 2-2 in four starts with a 3.50 GAA and a .725 save percentage while Rudolf is 1-2 in three starts with a 3.00 GAA and a .471 save percentage.
Saturday's match will be the 36th meeting in a series that began in 1980. The Herons are 32-2-1 all-time against the Dutchwomen, including an 18-1 mark in Geneva. William Smith is currently riding an eight-match winning streak against Union.
