The seventh-ranked William Smith College soccer team will travel to Grantham, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 8, to take on fifth-ranked Messiah in a non-conference battle at 5 p.m. The game will be the Herons' second match against a top 10 team in their first three contests.

William Smith opened its season with a 2-0-0 record. The Herons began the season with a 2-0 victory over fourth-ranked Hardin-Simmons and followed that up with a 3-0 victory over Stevenson. Sophomore

The Falcons enter the weekend with a 3-0-0 record. They defeated sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins 3-0 on Wednesday night. Brooke Firestone leads the team with four goals and nine points. Julia Kyne has a team-best two assists. Sara Yurnez has played a majority of the minutes in goal for the Falcons. She notched her first shutout of the season on Wednesday against the Blue Jays, recording four saves.

Saturday's game will be the 11th meeting between the two teams. The Falcons hold a 4-3-3 edge in the series. The Herons have won the last two meetings.
