ITHACA, N.Y.—The Hobart College basketball team shot 68 percent from the floor in the second half, on the way to a 92-81 Liberty League victory over Ithaca College in Light Gymnasium tonight. Five Statesmen hit double digits in the scoring column led by senior

Dougherty was 8-of-12 from the floor with three 3-pointers. He also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out a game-high six assists. Classmate
Jamal Lucas added a double-double on 19 points and a game-high 10 boards. Junior
Tucker Lescoe made three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points, as well as six boards, four assists and three steals. Junior
Edens Fleurizard was 4-of-5 from the field and 6-for-6 at the free throw line for 14 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots. Senior
Sean McKinless chipped in 12 points.
The Bombers (8-9, 4-6) had four players in double digits led by Riley Thompson's game-high 28 points. Peter Ezema scored 27 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. Sebastian Alderete and Bryan Karl each finished with 11 points.
While Hobart (10-7, 7-3) scorched the nets after halftime, making 19-of-28 shots, the Statesmen started to heat up just before the break. Ezema made a pair of free throws with about two minutes to go, putting Ithaca up 34-26. McKinless answered with a 3-pointer from distance and Fleurizard followed with an old fashion 3-point play to trim Ithaca's lead to 34-32 going into the locker room.
Both of Fleurizard's blocks came in the opening 20 minutes. He has 37 on the season, the most by a Statesman since Josh Ryan '00 blocked 39 in 1998-99.
The Bombers built their largest lead of the game by starting the second half on a 14-6 run. Ezema made a jumper less than five minutes in to give Ithaca a 48-38 lead. The momentum started to swing in Hobart's favor when the Statesmen senior trio combined for 10 straight points. McKinless capped the run with a 3-pointer that put the Statesmen ahead 52-51.
Midway through the half, Hobart began another run that turned a three-point deficit into a nine-point lead. During the four minute span, the Statesmen outscored the Bombers 14-2, including seven points from Dougherty, who opened the run with a 3-pointer from distance and closed it with a traditional 3-point play.
Down the stretch, Hobart kept Ithaca at arm's length never letting its lead dwindle below five and extending it to as many as 12.
The 92 points are the most by the Statesmen this season. Their 26 free throws made and 45 rebounds are their second highest total. Hobart finished the game with a .509 field goal percentage, the fourth time this season the Statesmen have made more than half of their shot attempts.
The Statesmen are back in action at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, when they visit RIT (4-12, 1-8). The Tigers defeated Rensselaer 70-68 tonight.
