The second-ranked William Smith College soccer team will host a NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Sectional on Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24, on Cozzens Field.

The Herons (18-1-1) are making their fifth straight appearance in the sectional round. William Smith will face No. 18 Stevens Institute of Technology (17-3-1) on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Herons punched their ticket to the third round with a 2-0 victory over Mary Washington yesterday. The Ducks defeated ninth-ranked Middlebury 2-1 on Sunday to advance to the third round.

Saturday's second game will feature No. 12 Johns Hopkins (16-2-4) facing No. 11 Dickinson (16-2-4) at 1:30 p.m. The Blue Jays defeated No. 7 Christopher Newport 2-0 Sunday evening to advance to the sectional round. The Red Devils bested No. 20 Amherst 1-0 to secure their spot in the third round. This will be the third meeting this season between Johns Hopkins and Dickinson. Hopkins won 2-0 in the Centennial Conference Championship and the teams played to a 2-2 draw during the regular season.

Saturday's advancing teams will meet in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 1 p.m. for a spot in the national semifinals.
