The Hobart College hockey team will wrap up the 2018-19 regular season this weekend when it hosts a pair of New England Hockey Conference contests at The Cooler. The Statesmen will take on Johnson & Wales on Friday at 7 p.m., before battling Suffolk on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Hobart enters the final weekend of the regular season fifth in the NEHC standings with 20 points. UMass Boston sits in first and in the driver's seat for the regular season title with 27 points. Spots two through five in the standings are currently separated by three points and very much up for grabs. Babson is second with 23 points and potentially could catch the Beacons with a pair of wins. UMass Boston and Babson will play each other this weekend. Norwich is tied for second with Babson. New England College sits in fourth with 21 points. The Cadets and Pilgrims will square off on Friday night.

Hobart enters the weekend with a 15-6-2 overall record and a 9-5-2 mark in conference play. The Statesmen are unbeaten in their last five games. Last weekend, Hobart bested then No. 12/13 Babson 5-0 before rallying for a 3-3 tie with then No. 7/9 UMass Boston. Hobart enters the weekend seventh in the nation in scoring offense (4.09 gpg), ninth in scoring margin (+1.87 gpg), 16th in scoring defense (2.22 gpg), and 17th in winning percentage (.696).

Zach Tyson leads the team with 18 assists and 24 points. Senior
Jonas Toupal is right behind him with 23 points on 10 goals and 13 assists. Junior
Travis Schneider leads the Statesmen with 12 goals. Junior

Liam Lascelle have split time in goal this season. Connal is 7-5-0 with a 2.37 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. Lascelle, the reigning NEHC Goaltender of the Week, is 6-1-2 with a 1.87 GAA and a .927 save percentage.

Johnson & Wales brings a 4-16-3 overall record and a 2-11-2 mark in NEHC play into Friday's game. The Wildcats are currently tied for ninth in the conference standings. Connor Bechtel leads the team with nine goals and 18 points. Connor Cassidy has a team best 10 assists. Mike Rockwell has played a majority of the minutes in goal this season. He is 2-12-3 with 4.09 GAA and a .891 save percentage.

Suffolk is 8-14-0 overall and 5-11-0 in conference play. The Rams enter the weekend in seventh place in the conference standings. Suffolk will be at Skidmore on Friday night. The Rams are led offensively by Jack Kelly and Mikhail Bryan who each have 23 points. Kelly leads the team with 12 goals while Bryan has a team best 15 assists. Michael Levine has played 78 percent of the minutes in goal. He is 6-12-0 on the season with a 3.41 GAA and a .898 save percentage.

The Rams defeated the Statesmen 5-2 when the two teams met on Dec. 7, in Charlestown, Mass.

This weekend's games will be just the second meeting for Hobart with both Johnson & Wales and Suffolk. The Wildcats and Rams joined the NEHC at the start of the 2018-19 season.

Saturday's game will be the final regular season home game for the six members of the Hobart Class of 2019.
