The Hobart College football team will make its first road trip of the season, visiting Morrisville State on Saturday, Sept. 14. Kickoff at Drake Field is at 1 p.m.
 
The game will be broadcast live on WEOS-FM (89.5/90.3). It will also be webcast on morrisvillemustangs.com.
 
The Statesmen (1-0) are coming off a 33-7 win over then No. 13 Brockport last Saturday. Hobart got six takeaways from its defense, including five interceptions, to stun the Golden Eagles. Brockport hadn't lost a regular season game dating back to 2016. Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week Emmett Forde led the Statesmen with eight tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and a sack.
 
The Mustangs (1-0) also won their open, taking down Bridgewater State 39-7. Morrisville State jumped out to a 19-0 halftime lead and never looked back, outgaining the host Bears 361-268. Running backs Kinsey Williams and Mike Cirasuolo combined for 143 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
 
This will be just the second gridiron meeting between Hobart and Morrisville State. The Statesmen won the inaugural showdown last season in Geneva 62-24. Hobart broke or tied several records in the game. It was the most points in a game in the program's modern era. Quarterback Ryan Hofmann eclipsed the pass efficiency record with a rating of 269.4 and tied the mark for touchdown passes with six. Kicker Kyle Hackett raised the standard for points by kicking, booting seven PATs and two field goals for 13 points.
