PAWTUCKET, R.I.-Nine different players scored a goal as the fifth-ranked Hobart College hockey team cruised to a 10-3 victory over Johnson & Wales at Lynch Arena this afternoon. Today's game was the first time the Statesmen scored 10 goals in a game since Oct., 26, 2012, a 10-0 win over Salve Regina to open the 2012-13 season.

Junior
Alec Robitaille recorded a game-high three points on a goal and two assists for Hobart (11-3-3, 5-3-2). Sophomore
Zach Tyson notched a pair of goals for the second straight game. Sophomore
Liam Lascelle started in goal and made 16 saves.

Austin Withycombe (1g, 1a), Anthony Scarcella and Matt Bernot (2a), finished with a team-high two points for the Wildcats (3-14-0, 0-10-0). Mike Rockwell stopped 45 shots in 60 minutes of action in goal for Johnson & Wales.

Just over two minutes into the game, sophomore
Dan Sliney opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the season. He collected a stretch pass from senior
Will Harrison, skated into the zone, and blasted a slap shot from the right faceoff over Rockwell's right shoulder. Tyson gave Hobart a 2-0 lead with his fifth goal of the season. He skated down the right wing boards, cut into the slot and flicked a wrist shot over the goalie's glove. Sophomore
Chase Bell was credited with an assist on the goal.

Hobart took control of the game in the second period, outshooting the Wildcats 23-5. First-year Felix Lamoureux extended the Statesmen's lead to three goals with his second goal of the season. His shot from the left faceoff circle bounced off Rockwell's back and then a defender and across the goal line.

Withycombe broke up the shutout bid with his third goal of the season. He one-timed a shot from the point past Lascelle. Bernot and Logan Orem were credited with assists on the goal.

Sophomore
PA Martineau notched what would prove to be the game-winning goal at the 12:14 mark of the second period. He weaved in between two Wildcat defenders and wristed a shot into the upper half of the cage. Senior Julien Dennicourt was credited with an assist on Martineau's fifth goal of the season. Blake Coffey were credited with assists on the goal.

Scarcella tallied his third goal of the season with just over two minutes remaining in the second period to make it a three goal game. Bernot and Aaron Garrison were awarded assists on the goal.

The Statesmen put the game out of reach with a five-goal outburst in the third period. It was the sixth time this season that Hobart has scored four or more goals in a period. Four minutes into the period, Lynch collected his fifth goal of the season. He broke up a clearing pass and snapped a shot past Rockwell. Just over three minutes later, Harrison notched his fourth goal of the season, poking a loose puck across the goal line. Lamoureux and Coffey were credited with assists on the goal.

Forty-three seconds later, Tal Finberg netted his first goal of the season, redirecting a shot from Withycombe into the back of the net. Scarcella was credited with the secondary assist on the goal.

Robitaille, Tyson and
Julien Denicourt rounded out the scoring for Hobart. Robitaille one-timed a feed from Martineau past Rockwell for his team-leading ninth goal of the season. At the 18:01 mark of the third period, Tyson added his second goal of the game and sixth of the season. He collected a cross ice pass from junior
Travis Schneider and wristed a shot past Rockwell. Ninety-one seconds later, Denicourt's third goal of the season closed out the scoring. Robitaille was awarded an assist on the goal.

Hobart finished the game with a 55-19 advantage in shots on goal. Neither team converted on their power play attempts. The Statesmen were 0-for-1 with the man advantage and the Wildcats were 0-for-3.

Hobart will be back in action next Friday, Jan. 24, when it travels to take on Castleton in a NEHC contest. Faceoff in Castleton is scheduled for 7 p.m.
