GENEVA, N.Y.-The fifth-ranked Hobart College hockey team edged New England College 3-2 in a New England Hockey Conference contest at The Cooler this afternoon. With the win, the Statesmen improve to 16-4-3 overall and 10-4-2 in conference play.

Junior
Ryan Lynch recorded a game-high two points in the victory for Hobart. Three different players recorded a goal and six players collected a point. Sophomore
Liam Lascelle started in goal and made 18 saves as he earned his fourth win of the season.

Six different players notched a point for the Pilgrims (15-8-1, 11-6-0). Anthony Pupplo started in goal and made 34 saves in just over 58 minutes of action.

The Statesmen opened the scoring at the 16:47 mark of the first period on
Zach Tyson's eighth goal of the season. Junior
Mike Faulkner was credited with an assist on the power-play goal. Faulkner broke up a New England College clearing attempt and tapped a pass forward to Tyson. Tyson deked around a defender, skated to the slot and flipped a shot past Pupplo.

The Pilgrims tied the game with a power-play goal of their own. With 60 seconds remaining in the opening period, Hunter Hall redirected a shot from the point past Lascelle for his fifth goal of the season. Jhuwon Davis and JP Chauvin were credited with assists on the goal.

Fifty seconds later, Hobart regained a one goal lead on junior
Phil Satin's second goal of the season. He picked up a loose puck in front of the cage and poked it across the goal line. Lynch was credited with an assist on goal.

Just over four minutes into the second period, New England College drew level on Carlos Fornaris' power-play goal. His ninth goal of the season was assisted by Nikita Pintusov and Nichols Rein. Fornaris deked a defender and slid a backhanded shot past Lascelle.

Sophomore
Blake Coffey scored the game winning goal at the 9:45 mark of the third period. He fired a shot from the point through traffic and into the back of the net. Lynch and junior
Mark Benemerito were credited with assists on the goal.

Hobart finished the game with a 37-20 edge in shots on goal. The Pilgrims were 2-for-4 on the power play and the Statesmen were 1-for-7 with the man advantage.

Hobart will conclude its regular season next weekend, Feb. 14-15, in Boston. The Statesmen will take on UMass Boston on Friday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m., before facing Babson on, Saturday, Feb. 15, at 4 p.m.
