CLEVELAND, Ohio—The Hobart College tennis team fell to Case Western Reserve 9-0 this morning. The Statesmen fall to 2-2 overall this season.
Hobart was ranked 34th and the Spartans were ranked 9th in the latest Oracle/ITA Division III Team rankings.
Case Western Reserve took a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Senior

Walker Anderson fell to James Hopper and Matthew Chen 8-4 in the No. 1 spot. First-years
Kaan Ayman and
Harry Lyu fell in the No. 2 spot to Jonathan Powell and Zach Hennessey 8-7. Senior
Colin Molloy and first-year
Jett Wright were topped by Anthony Kanam and Neil Mabee 8-5 at No. 3.
In singles play, Dubrovsky and Ayman won their first sets, but fell in three. Dubrovsky fell to Chen 2-6, 6-4, 6-1, in the No. 1 spot. Ayman lost in the No. 2 spot to Aaron Umen 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. Anderson was defeated by Powell 6-3, 7-5 in the No. 3 spot. Lyu fell to Chaitanya Aduru, 7-5, 6-4 in the No. 4 spot. Ledford won the first set, but was downed by Kanam 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 5 spot. Sophomore
Jeremy Atwater lost 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 6 spot.
The Statesmen will be back in action Tuesday, Mar. 3, when they travel to RIT for their Liberty League opener at 3 p.m.
