#6/7 William Smith faces Nazareth Wednesday

Wednesday’s game will be the 27th meeting between the teams

The William Smith College soccer team, which is ranked in the top-10 in both the United Soccer Coaches poll and the D3soccer.com poll, will wrap up a two-game road rip on Wednesday, Oct. 6, when it takes on Nazareth at Golden Flyer Stadium a 4 p.m. The Herons moved up one spot in both polls coming in at No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and No. 7 in the D3soccer.com poll.
 
William Smith is 8-1-1 overall this season and brings a seven-game win streak into Wednesday's game. The Herons boast one of the nation's top offenses this season. They rank second in the nation in total assists (36), third in assists per game (3.6), fifth in total points (112), ninth in points per game (11.20) and 10th in scoring offense (3.80 gpg).
 
Individually, William Smith is led by Julia Keogh's 23 points and nine goals. Both are career-highs for the Toronto native. Keogh is 16th in the nation in total points and 25th in goals. Sheila McQuillen leads the team with six assists. She has 14 points this year. Seneca Blakely-Armitage has 12 points on six goals and Amanda Adams has 10 points on four goals and two assists. The Herons have depth offensively as well with 12 players scoring at least one goal and 17 players recording at least a point.
 
Amanda Kesler has played a majority of the minutes in goal recently. She is 5-1-0 with a 0.64 goals against average and a .789 save percentage. Kirsten Nelson is 3-0-1 with a 0.25 GAA and an .889 save percentage.
 
Nazareth is 3-4-3 this season and are coming off a 1-0 victory over Elmira on Saturday. Kristen Prohaska and Caleigh Cahoon share the team lead with five points each. Prohaska has two goals and an assist and Cahoon has a goal and three assists.  Annika Monfort has played a majority of the minutes in goal. She is 3-3-3 with a 0.97 GAA and a .839 save percentage.  
 
Wednesday's game will be the 27th meeting between William Smith and Alfred and the first since 2014. The Herons hold a 19-3-4 edge in the series, including a 9-2-0 mark on the road.
