The sixth-ranked William Smith College soccer team will begin a three-game homestand on Saturday, Oct. 9, when it welcomes Clarkson to Cozzens Field at 4:30 p.m. In addition, the Herons welcome back soccer alumnae for their annual alumnae weekend.

William Smith is 9-1-1 overall this season and is coming off a 2-0 win over Nazareth on Wednesday, Oct. 6. The Herons are 4-0-0 in Liberty League play and sit atop the league standings. Entering the weekend, William Smith is second in the nation in assists (38), fourth in shutout percentage (.818), fourth in total points (120), fifth in assists per game (3.45), seventh in total goals (41), seventh in points per game (10.91) and 11th in scoring offense (3.73).

Individually, the Herons are led by
Julia Keogh's 23 points and nine goals. She is tied for second on the team with five assists. Keogh is 20th in the nation in total points.
Sheila McQuillen leads the team and is fourth in the nation with seven assists.

Amanda Kesler has played a majority of the minutes in goal this season. She is 6-1-1 with an .826 save percentage and a 0.55 goals against average.

Clarkson is 3-4-2 overall this season and 1-1-2 in the Liberty League. The Golden Knights are fourth in the conference standings with five points. Clarkson enters today's contest on a three-game unbeaten streak. The Golden Knights knocked off St. Lawrence 2-1 in double overtime on Tuesday, Oct. 5. Angelina Fahrenkrug leads the team with four goals and eight points. Chloe Hodge is right behind her with seven points on three goals and an assist. Julia Cascone has four helpers to lead the Golden Knights. Molly DiCaprio has played every minute in goal. She is 3-4-2 with a  1.33 GAA and a .783 save percentage.

Saturday's game will be the 34th all-time meeting between William Smith and Clarkson. The Herons hold a 33-0-0 advantage in the series, including a 16-0-0 record in Geneva.
