CANTON, N.Y.—The William Smith swimming and diving team suffered its first dual meet loss of the season, falling at St. Lawrence 113-95.
Tessa Yohan and
Olympia Canales were double winners for the Herons.
The Saints (2-2) won the first four events of the meet before Yohan pulled off her double, in back-to-back events no less. She won the 200-yard individual medley by a quarter of a second, hitting the wall in 2:24.51. She jumped right back in the pool for the 200 butterfly and won by a more comfortable margin. Yohan's time of 2:29.55 was 7.92 seconds ahead of the field.
Canales won both diving events, posting a score of 161.2 on the 1-meter board and 173.2 on the 3-meter board.
Kylie Rowland picked up first place points in the 200 breaststroke. She logged a time of 2:53.99.
William Smith's 400 free relay also took home first place points as
Katie Mullin,
Leanna Smith,
Victoria Smith and
Maggie Schlehlein finished in 4:11.87.
The Herons will return to action Dec. 3-4 when they compete in the Don Richards Invitational hosted by RIT.
