SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. —The Hobart College hockey team edged Skidmore 1-0 in an exhibition game at the Saratoga City Rink his evening. The Statesmen have now won their last five meetings with the Thoroughbreds.

Brian Kowalski stopped 42 shots in 57:58 of action in the Skidmore goal.
Tyson's strike came 75 seconds into the opening frame. He collected a drop pass in the slot from Maguyon, skated to the left faceoff circle and ripped a shot past Kowalski into the back net. McGowan, who got the starting nod in goal for the Statesmen, stopped eight shots in the opening 20 minutes.
Kowalski kept the Thoroughbreds in the game making 34 saves in the final 40 minutes of the contest. He made 19 saves in the third period as Hobart pushed for an insurance goal. First-year
Gagik Malakyan had one of the better opportunities for the Statesmen in the final 20 minutes, but Kowalski turned aside his shot from the point.
Hobart finished the game with a 43-17 advantage in shots on goal. Neither team was successful on the power play. The Statesmen were 0-for-2 while Skidmore was 0-for-5 with the extra attacker.
Hobart and Skidmore will be back in action tomorrow afternoon. Faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at The Cooler.
