GENEVA, N.Y. — The William Smith College tennis team knocked off Ithaca 7-2 in a Liberty League contest in Bristol Field House this afternoon. With the victory, the Herons are now 1-5 on the year with a 1-4 mark in Liberty League play. It also snapped a nine-match losing streak for William Smith.
The Herons swept doubles play to take an early 3-0 lead in the match. Junior
Maggie Bonomo and sophomore
Audreyanna Camacho continued to roll in the No. 1 doubles spot, besting Rebecca Andrews and Zoe Davis 8-1. Bonomo and Camacho are 6-0 this season, playing all six matches in the top spot. Seniors

Caitlin Chichora logged an 8-4 win over Sara Seinberg and Caroline Hertz at No. 2. Chichora and Nguyen are 3-3 in doubles play this season. Junior

Jamie Fine defeated Shannon Wolfe and Audry Johnson 8-3. It was Morrow and Fine's second win as a duo.
The Herons earned their four singles points with victories in straight sets. Bonomo beat Andrews 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 spot. Bonomo is now 4-2 in singles play after defeating Andrews twice this weekend. Chichora clinched the overall victory for William Smith. She topped Caroline Hertz 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 4 spot. Camacho topped Zoe Davis 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 2 spot. Fine collected her first collegiate win in the No. 6 spot. She defeated Audry Johnson 6-1, 6-4.
William Smith will be back in action on Thursday, April 29, when it welcomes Rensselaer to the HWS Tennis Center. Weather permitting, the match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
