Field Hockey game time changed for Cortland match

Start time moved to noon at SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex

9/17/2021 3:32:00 PM

The start time for the William Smith field hockey match at SUNY Cortland has been moved up to noon Saturday, Sept. 18 at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex. Live Video and Live Stats of the match will be available on Cortland's athletics website.

Masks are required for all fans, regardless of vaccination status, at all of SUNY Cortland's athletic events in the fall of 2021. The policy is due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases on campus.

Saturday will mark the 57th all-time game between the two programs with the Red Dragons holding a 34-21-1 series lead. William Smith won the most recent meeting, taking a 2-0 decision on Sept. 21, 2019. Mackenzie Wodka assisted on both Heron goals and Stephanie Stone made four saves to earn the shutout.

The Herons take a 3-2 overall record into the match following Wednesday's 2-1 win over SUNY Geneseo. Wodka scored the game-winning goal late in the third quarter.

Elizabeth Jacobia (2g,2a) and Sofia Pattillo (3g) share the William Smith lead with six points apiece. Kristen McCormick has played the majority of minutes in goal, recording a .522 save percentage and a 2.95 GAA.

The Red Dragons (5-0) are also coming off a 2-1 win Wednesday night. Cortland erased an early deficit to Ithaca thanks to a pair of goals by Hanna Corrigan.

Keirra Ettere paces Cortland with 21 points on eight goals and five assists. Megan McGuinness has played all but eight minutes in the cage, logging an .889 save percentage and a 0.62 GAA.
