#5 Hobart, #6 Babson moved to Sunday

Hobart-Southern Maine canceled

Hobart College announced that the fifth-ranked hockey team's schedule for this weekend, Jan. 14-15 has been altered due to COVID safety protocols in the visiting teams. The Statesmen's game against sixth-ranked Babson has been moved from Friday, Jan. 14 to Sunday, Jan. 16, at 4 p.m. Hobart's game against Southern Maine has been canceled.
 
All spectators are asked to monitor their health and stay home if experiencing any COVID symptoms. Spectators are required to wear a properly fitting mask while inside The Cooler. Fans who cannot make the trip to Geneva, New York, can follow all the action with Live Stats and HWS All-Access video.
 
The Statesmen enter the weekend with an 11-2-1 overall record and a 7-0-1 mark in conference play. Hobart sits atop the NEHC standings with 20 points, four clear of No. 10 Elmira and UMass Boston, which is receiving votes in this week's poll.
 
Hobart ranks second in the nation in scoring offense (5.14 gpg), scoring margin (+3.14 gpg), assists (129) and points (201). The Statesmen are sixth in winning percentage (.821), seventh in power-play percentage (.288), 11th in scoring defense (2.00 gpg) and 18th in penalty kill percentage (.869).
 
Individually, Luke Aquaro leads the team with 17 points on 10 goals and seven assists. Aaron Maguyon is second on the team with 16 points, including a team-leading 11 goals. Cooper Swift paces the team with 13 assists in 13 games. Maguyon is third in the nation in game-winning goals (3) fourth in power-play goals (5) and ninth in goals per game (0.79). Swift is 12th in the nation in assists per game (1.00).
 
Liam Lascelle and Joe Halstrom have split time in goal this season. Lascelle is 5-1-0 with a 2.06 goals against average and a .905 save percentage. Halstrom is 5-1-1 with a 2.01 GAA and a .912 save percentage. Lascelle is seventh in the nation in winning percentage (.833) and 22nd in GAA. Halstrom is 13th in the nation in winning percentage (.786) and 24th in GAA.
 
Babson is 8-1-2 overall with a 4-1-2 mark in conference play. The Beavers will take on the Soaring Eagles on Saturday at 4 p.m. Babson is currently fourth in the conference standings and has not played since a 6-4 victory over Norwich on Dec. 4. The Beavers are ninth in the nation in scoring offense (4.27 gpg).
 
Ryan Black leads the team with 15 points on eight goals and seven assists. Mike Egan and Thomas Kramer are right behind him with 13 points each. They both have six goals and seven assists. Black leads the nation in game-winning goals with four and is sixth in goals per game (0.80). Brad Arvanitis has played a majority of the minutes in goal. He is 3-1-2 with a 2.52 GAA and a .922 save percentage.
