Hobart welcomes Cortland Tuesday

The Hobart College soccer team will be back in action Tuesday, Oct. 4, when it hosts Cortland in a non-conference match on Cozzens Field. The game is set to begin at 4 p.m.  
 
Fans who cannot make it to Geneva can follow the action with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats. The game will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7).
 
ABOUT THE STATESMEN:
  • Hobart is 4-2-3 on the season and is unbeaten in its last three matches after knocking off Bard 2-1 in a Liberty League contest on Saturday.
  • Forward Amad Miller earned a spot on the Liberty League's weekly honor roll after factoring into both of the Statesmen goals against the Raptors.
  • Nolan Fierro and Quinn Phillips share the team lead with six points on two goals and two assists.
  • Guillermo Castañeda Chang and Christian Burkhart have split time in goal this season. They have combined for a 0.89 GAA, a .714 save percentage and four shutouts.
 
ABOUT THE RED DRAGONS:
  • Cortland is 6-3-2 overall this season and has won its last two games.
  • Jack Coleman leads the way with 16 points on seven goals and two assists. Mateo Marra follows closely behind with 14 points on four goals and six assists.
  • Luke van Galen has played a majority of the minutes in goal. He is 6-2-2 with a 1.60 GAA and a .660 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Tuesday's game will be the 24th meeting between the Statesmen and the Red Dragons. Cortland is 15-6-2 all-time against Hobart, including a 6-4-1 record when playing in Geneva.
  • Cortland won last year's meeting 2-1.
  • Hobart won the last game on Cozzens Field 1-0 in 2019.
