The William Smith College field hockey team will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 5 when it hosts Nazareth in a nonconference matchup at 6 p.m.
Fans who cannot make it to McCooey Field can follow the action with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats. The game will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).
ABOUT THE HERONS:
- William Smith enters the week with an 8-2 record after a earning it's first Liberty League win of the season, defeating St. Lawrence 3-2 on Saturday.
- Graduate student Emily Leonard and senior Lauren Jackson were named to the Liberty League honor roll after strong performances at SLU.
- Leonard leads the team with 22 points on 12 goals and one assist. She recorded two goals in Saturday's matchup against the Saints.
- Junior Sofia Pattillo follows with seven goals and three assists for 17.
- Junior goalie Kristen McCormick is 5-1 on the season for the Herons. She has a 0.97 GAA and a .682 save percentage.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN FLYERS:
- Nazareth brings a 1-9 record into Wednesday's game. On Saturday, the Golden Flyers suffered a 2-0 loss to Houghton University.
- Avery Tanton leads the team with two goals for four points.
- Goalie Mackenzie Halliday leads the Golden Flyers in minutes played in goal, posting a 1-7 record on the season. She brings a 4.00 GAA and a .785 save percentage into Wednesday's game.
