Hobart hosts #20 Clarkson Saturday

The Hobart College soccer team will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 8, when it welcomes nationally-ranked Clarkson to Cozzens Field. The Liberty League contest is scheduled to begin at 2 pm.
 
Hobart is 4-3-3 overall this season with a 1-1-2 record in Liberty League play. The Statesmen are looking to bounce back from a 3-0 loss to Cortland on Tuesday. The Golden Knights are 7-1-2 overall and 1-1-2 in conference play. Clarkson is ranked 20th in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and 25th in the D3soccer.com poll. The Golden Knights and St. Lawrence played to a 1-1 tie on Wednesday.
 
Fans who cannot make it to Geneva can follow the action with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats. The game will be broadcast on WHSW-FM (105.7 in Geneva).

  • Bobby Guilfoil and Zach Shufelt share the team lead with four points on two goals.
  • In total, 13 different Clarkson players have recorded a point.
  •  Carter Kladstrup has played a majority of the minutes in goal. He is 4-0-2 with a 0.17 GAA and a .958 Save percentage.
  •  He is second in the nation in save percentage and third in GAA.
  • The Golden Knight's defense has been strong this season allowing just two goals. They are second I the nation in shutout percentage (.800) and third in GAA (0.20).
 
ABOUT THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS:
  • Saturday's game will be the 69th meeting between the Statesmen and Golden Knights. Clarkson holds a 35-26-7 edge in the series.
  • The Statesmen are 7-1-2 in the last 10 meetings, but the Golden Knights won 3-0 last year in Potsdam
  • Hobart holds a 16-12-5 advantage in games in Geneva.
 
CONFERENCE STANDINGS:
  • Hobart and Clarkson enter the weekend tied for fourth in the conference standings with five points each.
  • Both teams have played four of their eight league games and have 1-1-2 records.
  • Vassar leads the league with a 3-0-0 overall record and nine points. St. Lawrence and Skidmore round out the top four.
