#24 Hobart splits matches with Middlebury, Wesleyan

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—The 24th-ranked Hobart College squash team split its matches at Vassar College's Kenyon Hall this afternoon. The Statesmen were edged by No. 23 Middlebury 6-3 and defeated Wesleyan 8-1. Hobart is now 1-4 on the season.
 
MIDDLEBURY MATCH:
  • Hobart won in the top three spots of the ladder against the Panthers (2-0).
  • Captain Sebi De La Vega swept Nathan Feinstein, 11-8, 11-9, 11-8, at No. 1.
  • In the No. 2 spot, Omar Kiwan defeated Will Lichstein, 11-6, 6-11, 12-10, 11-8.
  • Hussein Labib edged Caleb Boateng, 11-5, 8-11, 7-11, 8-11, 11-1, at No. 3.
  • The Statesmen had a chance to win the match but dropped three hard-fought 3-2 matches at Nos. 4, 7 and 9.
  • Middlebury won 3-0 at No. 5 and No. 6.

Hobart will wrap up the 2022 portion of its schedule tomorrow when it takes on Vassar College. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
