William Smith hosts Geneseo in non-conference action Saturday

The William Smith College basketball team will host SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, Dec. 10, in a non-conference matchup in Bristol Gymnasium. Tip off between the Herons and the Knights is set for 2 p.m.
 
Fans who cannot make it to Bristol Gym can follow the action with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats. The game will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).

The Herons are 1-5 after suffering two conference losses to RPI and Vassar last weekend. On Friday, Junior guard Brooke Jarvis posted a career-high 31 points and seven rebounds while first-year forward, Mara Bledsoe also posted a career-high 14 points and seven rebounds against the Engineers.

The Knights bring a 5-2 record to Geneva after defeating Medaille 56-43 on Wednesday night. Lauren Romito led Geneseo with 17 points and 13 rebounds in the nonconference matchup.
 
ABOUT THE HERONS
  • Jarvis leads the Liberty League, averaging 17.5 points per game, followed by senior Lauren DeVaney averaging 11.3 points per game.
  • DeVaney leads the Herons, averaging 8.3 rebounds per game, followed by sophomore Maddie Patrick, averaging 7.7.
  • Jarvis was named to the Liberty League weekly honor roll after last weekend's performances.
ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
  • Romito leads the Knights, averaging 13.9 points per game, followed by Kiley Snow with 10.4.
  • Kerry Dennin posts a team-leading 10.3 rebounds per game, followed by Romito with 9.9.
SERIES SNAPSHOT
  • William Smith and Geneseo will face off for the 27th time on Saturday. The Herons lead the series 14-12, including a 7-3 edge in Geneva.
  • Last time they met, the Knights defeated the Herons 57-43 in Geneseo, on Feb. 8, 2022.
