Herons to host Saints, Golden Knights game postponed

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College basketball team was scheduled to host a pair of Liberty League games this weekend in Bristol Gymnasium. The Herons will take on St. Lawrence University Friday, Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m., but Saturday's contest against Clarkson has been postponed due to COVID safety protocols.
 
The Clarkson at William Smith game has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m.
 
Spectators are asked to monitor their health and stay home if experiencing any COVID symptoms. All spectators, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear properly fitting masks in Bristol Gym. Fans who cannot make the trip to Geneva can follow the action with HWS All-Access video and Live Stats.
 
Friday's game will be broadcast live on WHWS-FM (105.7).
 
Olivia Parisi leads William Smith in scoring, averaging 18.1 ppg while grabbing 8.5 rpg. She leads the Liberty League in free throw shooting (.854), is second in scoring, fourth in field goal percentage (.480) and seventh in rebounding. Three-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week Brooke Jarvis leads the Herons in steals (1.5 spg), is second in scoring (17.6 ppg) and third in rebounding (7.3 rpg). Lauren DeVaney is William Smith's top rebounder at 9.5 rpg while contributing 12.0 ppg.
 
The Herons are 4-13 overall, 3-8 in the Liberty League.
 
St. Lawrence is 16-2, including 10-2 in conference play. The Saints are a game behind first place Vassar in the league standings. Ava McCann leads three SLU players averaging double digits at 13.5 ppg. Katie Frederick paces the league in rebounding (14.2 rpg) and is second on the team in scoring (11.8 ppg).
 
William Smith leads the all-time series against St. Lawrence 42-34, but the Saints won 84-69 when the teams last met back on Jan. 22 in Canton.
