GENEVA, N.Y.—Sixteenth-ranked Denison defeated the Hobart College tennis team 9-0 in a non-conference match at the HWS Tennis Center this afternoon. With the win, the Big Red improved to 6-1 on the season while the Statesmen are now 3-3.
Denison opened the match with a sweep of the doubles matches. The Big Red won 8-2 in both the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles spots.

Sean Pesin put up a strong fight for the Statesmen in the top spot, but were edged by Tim Cianciola and Jack Bulger 8-5.
Denison won all six singles matches, prevailing in straight sets in all five matches. Pesin again put up a strong battle, but was edged by Bulger, 6-4, 6-3.
Hobart will be back in action, March 21, when it begins a stretch of five matches in Orlando, Florida. The Statesmen will face Salisbury, Colorado College, Trinity, Luther and Grinnell in the Sunshine State.
