#6 Herons head to Flower City Saturday

The sixth-ranked William Smith College soccer team continues its two-game road trip on Saturday, Sept. 15, when it makes the 47-mile trip to take on the University of Rochester. The non-conference contest between the Herons and the Yellowjackets, who are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll, is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Fauver Stadium.

ABOUT THE HERONS:
  • William Smith brings a 3-1-0 record into Saturday's game after defeating Geneseo 1-0 on Wednesday evening.
  • The Herons are led offensively by Emma Faso, who has five points on two goals and an assist. Seneca Blakely-Armitage also has two goals.
  • Amanda Kesler has a slight edge in playing time in goal. She is 1-1-0 with a 0.45 GAA and a .750 save percentage.
  • William Smith is 22nd in the nation in shutout percentage (.750) and 25th in corner kicks per game (7.00).
 
ABOUT THE YELLOWJACKETS:
  • Rochester brings a 3-0-2 record into Saturday's contest. The Yellowjackets and St. John Fisher played to a scoreless draw on Wednesday.
  • Claire Grover leads the team with 16 points on seven goals and two assists. She is 11th in the nation, averaging 1.40 goals per game.
  • Grace Kuropatkin has the edge in goalie minutes played. She is 2-0-1 with a 0.33 GAA and an .833 save percentage.
  • The Yellowjackets are seventh in the nation in assists (14) and ninth in assists per game (2.80) and 23rd in points (44).
 
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Saturday's game will be the 49th meeting all-time between William Smith and Rochester. The Herons hold a 24-17-7 edge in the series. The Yellowjackets are unbeaten in the last three meetings  (2-0-1).
