The Hobart College football team will make its first trip to La Plume, Pennsylvania, to take on the Keystone College this week. The opening kickoff at Turf Field Athletic Complex is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.

The Statesmen improved to 2-1 overall with a 17-0 win over St. John Fisher last week. Through three games, Hobart ranks in the top 25 in the nation in four defensive categories. The Statesmen are 22nd in red zone defense (.500), 23rd in scoring defense (10.0), 24th in passing yards allowed (131.0) and 25th in total defense (230.0).

Linebackers
Anthony Romano and
Peterson Monexant have combined for 46 tackles this season. Romano has 25 stops, including team-highs of 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Monexant has 21 tackles, four for loss, 1.5 sacks and an interception.

On offense, quarterback
David Krewson has completed 61% of his passes for 452 yards and five touchdowns. Nine different receivers have contributed to the balanced passing game. On the ground,
Tim Denham Jr. is coming off his first 100-yard rushing game of the season. He broke loose for 111 yards, including a 29-yard TD, against the Cardinals.

Keystone (0-3) held a 20-7 lead at halftime last week, but William Paterson rallied with 20 unanswered second half points to defend its home field 27-20. The Giants are averaging 231.3 yards per game on offense while allowing 408.0 yards per game on defense.

This will be the second meeting between the two teams. Hobart won the inaugural contest 58-14 in Geneva on Sept. 25, 2021.
