GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College Soccer team and Ithaca played to a 0-0 draw on Cozzens Field this afternoon. It was just the fourth time that the Statesmen and Bombers played to a tie in 66 meetings.
Hobart is now 3-2-3 on the season with a 0-1-2 mark in conference play.
Guillermo Castañeda Chang and
Christian Burkhart split time in goal. Castaneda Chang started and made one save. Ithaca is now 1-4-4 on the year with a 0-0-2 mark in conference play.
KEY STATS:
- Ithaca finished the game with a 13-11 edge in shots, but Hobart had a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Statesmen had six corner kicks and Ithaca had five.
FIRST HALF:
- The Bombers carried the play in the first half, finishing the opening 45 minutes with a 7-1 edge in shots on goal.
- Connor Tierney had the game's first chance in the second minute, but he just missed the left goal post.
- In the 36th minute, Connor Braid fired a shot on goal from just inside the 18-yard box, but Castaneda Chang dove to his right and made the save.
SECOND HALF:
- Hobart had a 10-6 edge in shots in the second half.
- Connor Koschineg had a chance 13 seconds into the frame but Ian Whitfield smothered the bouncing ball.
- Amad Miller had Hobart's best opportunity in the 61st minute. He raced down the right wing and ripped a shot from a tight angle towards the goal. Whitfield dove to his left and made the save.
- The Bombers tested the Statesmen's defense, but could not find the range in the final 15 minutes. Ithaca's forwards fired a couple of shots from in close over the crossbar.

UP NEXT:
Hobart will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 1, when it heads to Annandale -on-Hudson, N.Y., to take on Bard. The Liberty League contest is set to begin at 2 p.m.
