The William Smith College field hockey team will be back in action Friday, Oct. 13, when it welcomes Liberty League foe Ithaca to Geneva. The conference matchup is set to start at 4 p.m. on McCooey Field.
"Momma's Got You" food truck will be available between McCooey Field and Cozzens Field for the double header with William Smith soccer, courtesy of the Heron Society. The food truck will be available from 3:45-5:45 and will be free for students, faculty, and staff with a valid HWS OneCard.

ABOUT THE HERONS:
- William Smith (7-5) is coming off a 4-0 conference win over RPI on Saturday. The Herons are 2-1 in the Liberty League ahead of the crucial conference matchup.
- Junior Hannah Huston was named the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week, while junior Rebecca Mantione was named to the weekly honor roll after two strong performances last week.
- Mantione (6G, 3A) leads the Herons with 15 points, followed by senior Libby Maxwell with 10 (4G, 2A). Senior Sofia Pattillo (3G, 3A) has chipped in nine points on the season.
- Senior goalie Kristen McCormick has a slight edge in minutes played for the Herons, and has secured a 1.56 GAA, a .657 save percentage, and a 6-3 record.
ABOUT THE BOMBERS:
- Ithaca (10-3) is coming off a 2-1 overtime win over New Paltz on Tuesday. The Bombers are 3-0 in conference play heading into the matchup with the Herons.
- Natalie Descalso (4G, 11A) leads Ithaca with 19 points.
- Alex Clough has played a majority of the minutes in goal for the Bombers and has a 0.97 GAA, a 0.766 save percentage, and a 9-2 record.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
- Friday's matchup will be the 47th meeting between the Herons and the Bombers.
- William Smith leads the series 31-15, including a 15-6 edge in Geneva.
- Last season, the Herons and the Bombers split the series. Ithaca defeated William Smith 2-0 in regular season play in Ithaca, but the Herons responded with a 1-0 overtime win in the Liberty League semifinals just two weeks later.
