COACHES CORNER:
"Our primary objective for this meet was to see growth and progress for the program from year one," said Head Coach
R.C. Weston. "We knew the talent we faced from Ithaca and WPI was going to be strong but the message to the team was simply to focus on us. What's not seen in the score is the fact that almost every Statesmen swimmer and diver hit a lifetime best time or score on the boards. Daniel hit his first ever score of 9 on his back 1 and a 1/2, Tillman PR'd on his 1-meter dive, and in the water Jameson, Randall, Nate and Holton all went lifetime best times. Not to be forgotten,
Christopher Woody was the fastest Statesmen in the water today and both him and Rupert had a great meet to start their collegiate careers. There is no bigger sense of pride as a coach that to watch this team bring energy and enthusiasm in the face of adversity, and it never wavered."
UP NEXT:
The Statesmen will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 21, when they head to Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils at 1 p.m.
