Swimming & Diving hosts Roberts Wesleyan, Wells in home opener

Saturday the Statesmen, Herons will host its Breast Cancer Awareness Meet

The Hobart and William Smith Colleges swimming & diving teams will host Roberts Wesleyan University and Wells College on Homecoming and Family Weekend, Saturday, Oct. 24, for their home 2023-24 home opener. The action in Bristol Pool is set to start at 11 a.m.
 
Saturday, the Colleges will be hosting its breast cancer awareness meet. The swimming & diving teams will be raising money for the Breast Cancer Confidence Project. If you would like to donate to the cause, you can find more information on donating here.
 
William Smith is entering the meet with a 1-2 overall record, after a convincing, 226-62, victory at Fredonia last weekend. Sophomores Ella Raiti and Lea Emanuel were both recognized by the Liberty League for their outstanding performances. Raiti was named Liberty League Diver of the Week, while Emanuel was named to the Weekly Honor Roll. 

The Herons will take on the 2-1 Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan, who are coming off a 239-11 win over Monroe Community College last weekend. William Smith will also race against Wells College, which brings a 0-3 record into Bristol Pool. The Express are coming off losses to SUNY Brockport, Cortland, and New Paltz at the Cortland Pumpkin Relays. 

Hobart currently holds a 1-2 overall record, coming off their first win of the season at Fredonia, 125-65. First-year Christopher Woody led the team posting three individual first-place finishes and one first-place relay finish. 
 
The Statesmen welcome a 1-2 Redhawks team coming off a 186-106 win over MCC on Oct. 21. Hobart will also face off against Wells College, which brings an 0-3 record to Geneva. The Express suffered three losses at the Cortland Pumpkin Relays to Brockport, New Paltz and host Cortland.
