Hobart faces RIT in midweek match up

The Hobart College soccer team will be back in action tomorrow, Oct. 4, when it hosts Rochester Institute of Technology for a Liberty League matchup on Cozzens Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
 
The Statesmen hold a 4-4-1 overall record and are off to a flying start in Liberty League play with a 3-0-0. Hobart is looking to continue its three-game winning streak after Saturday's 2-0 victory over Clarkson University. The Tigers are 3-1-4 overall and 0-1-1 in the Liberty League after tying Bard, 1-1, this past weekend. 
 
Fans who can't make it to Geneva can follow all the action with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats. The game will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7).


ABOUT THE STATESMEN
  • Quinn Phillips leads the team with seven points on two goals and three assists. 
  • Nolan Fierro was tabbed the Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week after earning three points this past week. He now has six points on two goals and two assists.
  • Senior goalie Guillermo Castañeda Chang was selected as the defensive performer of the week after going 2-0-0 this past week. He is 4-1-0 on the season with a 0.86 GAA and an .840 save percentage. 
  • La Zai Outerbridge earned a spot on the league's weekly honor roll. He scored a late goal against Ithaca this weekend and is one of four Statesmen with two goals this season. 

ABOUT THE TIGERS:
  • Joshua Price leads the team with fifteen points on seven goals and one assist.
  • Tate Pottle has a team-high of three assists. 
  • Jason Trapp has played a majority of the minutes in goal. He is 3-1-4 with a 1.33 GAA and a .677 save percentage.

ABOUT THE SERIES:
  • Wednesday's game will be the 55th matchup between the Statesmen and the Tigers.
  • Hobart leads the series 28-20-6 all-time, including a 14-9-3 mark in Geneva. 
  • Last year, the Tigers topped the Statesmen 2-0 in Henrietta.
