CANTON, N.Y. - The William Smith College swimming and diving team was back in action against St. Lawrence University in The Frank and Lee Augsbury Pool on Saturday. The Herons fell to the Saints, 151-85 and fall to 2-4 on the season.

Sophomore Ella Raiti led the Herons with first-place finishes from the 1-meter and the 3-meter diving board. Raiti scored 182.3 points from the 1-meter diving board and recorded 179.9 points from the 3-meter board to earn crucial points for William Smith.

Sophomore Lea Emanuel took first-place in the 100-yard backstroke stopping the clock at 1:09.52. Sophomore Hali Seidberg had a strong performance, coming in first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.75. The relay team of Emanuel and Seidberg, junior Tessa Yohan and first-year Mackenzie Morus came in second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

"Our Herons continue to build through this season." Head Coach R.C. Weston said. "Even though we didn't get the win we saw so many great performances. Hali Seidberg had a fantastic 100 Fly, Mackenzie Morus had her first dose of the 400 IM on the season, and our divers Ella Raiti, Haley Levine, Emma Burger, and Emma Aluck were all solid on the boards. We ended the meet on a really solid relay of Tessa Yohan, Lea Emanuel, Hali, and Mackenzie Morus dropping nearly 3 seconds from our team's season best. I'm really impressed with our continued growth this year."

The Herons will be back in action at home next Friday, Nov 17, when they face Alfred University in Bristol Pool. The meet is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
