GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College Heron Hall of Honor will welcome seven new members in an on-campus ceremony on April 27. The Class of 2024 includes Sarah Daniels O'Connor '95, of Riverside, Connecticut, Ami Cammarota Ford '00, of Geneva, Nicky Livingston Huston '02, of Whitney Point, Amanda Markee '07, of San Diego, Megan Shea Breslin '03, of Redwood City, California, Sue Willard '99, of Geneva, and Olivia Zitoli '14, of Millis, Massachusetts.
SARAH DANIELS O'CONNOR '95
- One of the greatest goalies in the history of William Smith lacrosse
- 1995 IWLCA second team All-American
- Started in three consecutive national championship games (1993, 1994, 1995)
- Holds the program records for saves in career and saves in a season
AMI CAMMAROTA FORD '00
- One of the greatest defensive midfielders in the history of William Smith field hockey
- Starter for 1997 national championship team
- Three-time NFHCA All-American
- CoSIDA Academic All-American & NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient
NICKY LIVINGSTON HUSTON '02
- One of the greatest offensive midfielders in the history of William Smith field hockey, also played one season of basketball
- Assisted on game-winning goal in 2000 national championship game, earning NCAA All-Tournament honors
- Two-time NFHCA All-American
- Graduated with the program's career and season records for assists
AMANDA MARKEE '07
- One of the greatest crew in the history of Hobart and William Smith sailing
- Two-time national champion, winning 2005 team race and 2005 coed dinghy titles
- Led the Colleges to five Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association championships
- Two-time ICSA All-American
MEGAN SHEA BRESLIN '03
- One of the greatest attackers in the history of William Smith lacrosse
- Led Herons to three NCAA tournament bids, the 2001 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship and the program's first UCAA championship in 2003
- Three-time IWLCA All-American
- Graduated second in career points and career assists and fourth in career goals
SUE WILLARD '99
- One of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of William Smith soccer
- Played in four consecutive NCAA tournaments, leading the Herons to the national championship game in 1997
- Set the William Smith career records for saves and wins, as well as the season records for saves, save percentage, wins and shutouts
- 1998 first team NSCAA All-East and All-UCAA
OLIVIA ZITOLI '14
- One of the greatest defenders in the history of William Smith soccer
- Led Herons to four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, including two runs to the national semifinals and the 2013 national championship
- Leader of a defense that recorded a Heron season record 21 shutouts, including 16 in a row, in 2013
- 2013 NSCAA National Player of the Year
In addition to celebrating the Class of 2024, William Smith Athletics will also include a celebration of the
40th anniversary of the Heron Society during April's on campus ceremony.
Since the charter class was inducted in 1997, the Heron Hall of Honor has recognized the legendary careers of 67 student-athletes and coaches. The Heron Hall of Honor Class of 2024 will be the 11th class of inductees and will raise the total number of Herons recognized to 74.
