Herons swim past Saxons 144-92

The William Smith College swimming and diving team was back in action Friday against Alfred University in Bristol Pool, defeating the Saxons 144-92. With the win, the Herons move to 3-4 on the season while Alfred fell to 2-3.

First-year Mackenzie Morus and sophomore Haley Levine led William Smith with two first place finishes each. Morus came first in the 1000-yard freestyle and in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 11:35.48 and 5:42.81. Levine finished first from both the 1-meter and the 3-meter diving boards with a score of 153.00 points and 139.00 points for her first wins of her collegiate career.
 
Junior Tessa Yohan came in first place in the 200-yard IM, stopping the clock at 2:26.05, while sophomore Hali Seidberg finished first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.53. 
 
Sophomore Lea Emanuel earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:27.78. Emanuel was also part of the relay team with Morus, first-year Jayne Pearson, and sophomore Maggie Woodruff that finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay, clocking in at 1:49.89.

The Herons will be back in action Friday, Dec. 1, when they travel to Rochester, NY for the annual Don Richards Invitational held on the campus of RIT. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
