CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The 23rd-ranked Hobart College squash team was defeated by 17th-ranked Massachusetts Institute of Technology 6-3 at the Zesiger Center this afternoon.
Five of the nine matches were decided in 3-0 sweeps. Three matches went five games.

- The Statesmen are now 0-3 on the season.

FOR THE STATESMEN
- Hobart logged wins at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5.
- First-year Dhirren Rajarathinam improved to 3-0 on the season with a victory at No. 3. He defeated Collin Wen, 11-6, 11-7, 11-9.
- Sebi De La Vega logged his first win of the year, rallying for a victory over John Gunton. De La Vega won 1-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-3, 11-8 at No. 4.
- Joseph Raskin Lantos also rallied for a win in his match at No. 5. He bested Robert Albani, 10-12, 11-3, 11-9, 11-5.
- In the No. 2 spot, Omar Kiwan was tripped up by Phillip Hyun Su Price, 8-11, 8-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-7. It was the closest match of the day.
FOR THE ENGINEERS
- Four of MIT's six points came via 3-0 sweeps.
- Mero Elmarassy won in the No. 1 spot, 13-11, 11-6, 11-6.
- Nikhil Kakarla and Mitav Nayak swept their matches at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. Yos Wagenmans wrapped up the match with a sweep at No. 9.

Hobart will be back in action on Dec. 1, when it welcomes the University of Rochester to the Smith Squash Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
