The top-ranked Hobart College hockey team returns to The Cooler this weekend for a pair of New England Hockey Conference contests. On Friday, Nov. 3 the Statesmen welcome Norwich University for their home opener. The opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. The following afternoon Hobart will host New England College at 4 p.m.

The Statesmen are 1-1-0 to start the season. On Friday, Hobart was edged by then No. 11 Oswego 3-2 in overtime.
Chris Duclair and
Ignat Belov each scored. The next evening the Statesmen skated past Potsdam 7-0.
Luke Aquaro and Duclair scored two goals each.
Mavrick Goyer earned the shutout, stopping all 14 shots.Â

The Cadets are 1-0-0 after beating Endicott College 4-1 this past weekend. Clark Kerner had three assists in the win. The Pilgrims are also 1-0-0 after defeating Fitchburg State in an overtime battle 4-3. David Novotny scored the game-winning goal.

Friday's game against Norwich will be a "White Out." Fans are encouraged to wear white to Friday's game to help white out The Cooler. The Macarollin food truck will be on site. HWS students, faculty and staff will receive one item free with their OneCard courtesy of the Statesmen Athletic Association and HWS Athletics.

Fans who can't make the trip to The Cooler can follow all the action with HWS All-Access and Live Stats. The game will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).

ABOUT THE STATESMEN
- First-year Chris Duclair currently leads the Statesmen with three goals and three points.Â
- Junior Luke Aquaro (2g, 1a) and sophomore Ignat Belov (1g, 2a) also have three points.
- Goyer and Damon Beaver both played a game last weekend in goal for the Statesmen. Beaver started against the Lakers and Goyer started against the Bears.
