Hobart Basketball hosts pair of league games for final home weekend

Fans can win free pizza Friday; Food Truck on site Saturday

The Hobart College basketball team will host two Liberty League games this weekend in its final home games of the regular season. The Statemen take on Union College at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 and Bard College at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.
 
During halftime of Friday's game, Domino's will sponsor a halftime contest in which fans can win free pizza.
 
On Saturday, the Statesmen will celebrate Senior Day, honoring their five seniors and one graduate student prior to the start of the game. Also on Saturday, Rob's Al Dente food truck will be in the Bristol Lot, serving casual pasta. HWS students, faculty and staff can present their HWS ID for one free item.
 
Both games will be broadcast live on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva) and webcast on HWS All-Access. Fans can also follow the action with Live Stats. 
 
Hobart enters the weekend with a 12-9 overall record and an 8-6 mark in Liberty League play. The Statesmen aim to rebound from a pair of OT losses at St. Lawrence and Clarkson.
 
Scouting Report: Hobart 
  • The Statesmen are third in the nation in rebounding margin at +12.2 per game.
  • Senior Jackson Meshanic leads the league in scoring (21.4 ppg) and rebounding (10.7 rpg) and is ninth in the nation in double-doubles with 14.
  • Senior Patrick Walker is second on the team in scoring at 11.6 ppg and third on the boards at 4.9 rpg.
 
Scouting Report: Union 
  • The Dutchmen are 4-17 overall, 3-11 in the Liberty League. They are coming off an OT win against Bard. 
  • Seniors Mike Manley and Brian Noone are the team's scoring leaders at 15.0 and 13.8, respectively. 
  • Friday will be the 118th matchup between the Statemen and the Dutchmen. Union leads the series 66-51. The teams have gone 5-5 the last 10 times they've met.  
 
Scouting Report: Bard 
  • The Raptors are 6-15 overall and 3-11 in the league.
  • Senior Tyler Burns and sophomore Greg Farrow lead the team in scoring with 12.8 and 11.0 ppg, respectively.
  • Saturday will be the 25th showdown between the Statesmen and the Raptors. Hobart leads the series 22-2.
