The Hobart and William Smith Sailing team was in action at three regattas this past weekend.
Heather Kerns and
Elizabeth Starck represented the Herons at the Faye Bennet Trophy in Annapolis, Md. It was the third consecutive year that the duo competed in the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Women's Singlehanded Championship.

The colleges also competed in two other regattas in Ithaca, New York. The Susan Rogers Women's Invite and Jack Boehringer Open Invite, both hosted by Cornell. The trip to Ithaca was highlighted by a fourth-place finish by HWS in the Jack Boehringer.

FAYE BENNET TROPHY
- Kerns and Starck finished the singlehanded conference championship in 8th and 9th place respectively.
- Fourteen races were contested on the weekend.
- Kerns had five top-five finishes and was in the top 10 eight times, ending the weekend with 126 points.
- Just behind her, Starck compiled 127 points, including a first-place finish in her third race.

The Colleges will be back in action next weekend, Sept. 23-24, for three regattas. They will travel back to Annapolis to compete for the MAISA Match Race Championship. HWS will also travel back to Kings Point, New York for the MAISA Top Nine Combined and ILCA7 Regatta.
