The William Smith College basketball team is back in action at home for the first time this year as it hosts Bard College and Skidmore College in back-to-back conference showdowns this weekend. Tipoff between the Herons and the Raptors is set for Friday, Jan. 12 at 5:30 p.m. followed by a matchup with the Thoroughbreds on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m.

ABOUT THE HERONS
- William Smith is 1-11 (1-4 LL) to start the season and is looking to bounce back after conference losses to RIT and Ithaca last weekend.
- Senior guard Brooke Jarvis was named to the Liberty League weekly honor roll after combining for 35 points and 16 rebounds. In Saturday's loss to the Bombers, Jarvis surpassed the 1,000-career point mark. She is just the 18th Heron in program history to do so.
- Jarvis leads the Liberty League in scoring, averaging 16.7 ppg. She is followed by first-year Miranda Martin averaging 5.3 ppg.
- Jarvis is fourth in the conference in rebounding, averaging 7.8 rpg while junior Maddie Patrick grabs 5.6.
- First-year Jazzmyn Lewis is second in the conference in steals (23), averaging 1.9 per game.
- Patrick (11) and Jarvis (10) both rank in the top-10 in the Liberty League in blocks this season.
ABOUT THE RAPTORS
- Bard brings a 4-8 record to Geneva and is looking for its first conference win of the season. The Raptors are coming off a 62-34 defeat to Union on Tuesday.
- Shirley Dong leads the team in scoring, averaging 10.0 ppg while Maggy Peyton averages 9.3.
- Lexi Miller is third in the conference in rebounding, averaging 9.1 per game.
- Dong leads the Raptors with 19 steals while Miller has blocked 17 shots, making her presence known in the paint.
ABOUT THE THOROUGHBREDS Â
- Skidmore enters the weekend with a 9-4 record (4-2 LL) and will head to Rochester Friday to take on RIT before traveling to Geneva. The Thoroughbreds are coming off a 61-58 loss to Vassar on Tuesday.
- Julia Blanck leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.2 ppg while Andi Levitz follows with 7.6.
- Blanck also leads the Thoroughbreds in rebounding (10.2 rpg), steals (21) and blocks (36).

- William Smith and Bard will face off for the 23rd time on Friday. The Herons lead the series 22-0 with 11 of their wins coming at home.
- Last time they met on Feb. 11, 2023, William Smith defeated Bard 96-60 in Geneva. Jarvis led the Herons with 22 points and eight rebounds. Graduate student Kerstin Kelly chipped in a career-high 17 points in the win.
- William Smith and Skidmore will face off for the 55th time on Saturday. The Herons lead the series 33-21 with a 17-10 edge in Geneva.
