GENEVA, N.Y.—The 17th-ranked Hobart College squash team cruised to a 7-2 victory over 21st-ranked Navy 7-2 at the Smith Squash Center afternoon.
This is the Statesmen's second-straight victory over the Midshipmen and fifth overall.

FOR THE STATESMEN
- Hobart controlled the match from the beginning, posting three 3-0 sweeps. The Statesmen added three 3-1 victories and took their seventh point because the Midshipmen only had eight players.
- First-year Dhirren Rajarathinam continued his impressive rookie campaign, sweeping Henry Sparkman, 12-10,11-7, 11-5, at No. 2. Rajarathinam moved up to the No. 2 spot after posting a 6-1 record at No. 3. Today's victory was his team-leading seventh of the season.
- At No. 5, junior Roberto Vega swept Tighe Mularkey, 11-3, 11-9, 11-9. It was his third win of the season.
- First-year Angel Ripolles also posted a sweep in the No. 8 spot. He beat Holden Woodward, 11-7, 11-4, 11-6. It was his first collegiate victory.
- In the No. 3 spot, senior Omar Kiwan rallied to beat Lucas Spiro, 11-3, 11-9, 11-8, 11-8. With the win, Kiwan improved to 4-4 on the season.
- Senior Sebi De La Vega bested Alexander Orr, 7-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-5, in the No. 4 spot.
- His brother, sophomore Javier De La Vega topped Sean Wu, 13-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-6, in the No. 6 spot.
FOR THE MIDSHIPMEN
- Navy needed five games to collect its two points in the match.
- In the No. 1 spot, Matthew Wang edged Hussein Labib, 6-11, 11-9, 12-10, 4-11, 11-5.
- Ramsay Killinger squeaked out an 11-9, 6-11, 15-13, 3-11, 11-7 win in the No. 7 spot.
UP NEXT
Hobart will be back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 17, when it heads to the North Country to take on St. Lawrence. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
