#17 Hobart tops Wesleyan 7-2

CLINTON, N.Y.—The 17th-ranked Hobart College squash team defeated Wesleyan University 7-2 at Hamilton College's Little Squash Center. The Statesmen earned all seven of their points in 3-0 sweeps.

  • With the win, the Statesmen improved to 4-6 on the season.
  • Wesleyan is also 4-6 on the year.
 
 
MATCH SUMMARY
  • In the No. 1 spot, the senior Hussein Labib defeated Nimai Kini, 11-5, 11-4, 11-8. It was Labib's third win of the season.
  • First-year Dhirren Rajarathinam bested Toby Goldston, 11-5, 11-4, 11-6. Rajarathinam has won five straight matches and is 9-1 on the season.
  • Senior Omar Kiwan defeated won 11-2, 11-5, 11-9 in the No. 3 spot for his fourth straight victory. He is 6-4 on the year.
  • Senior Sebi De La Vega cruised to an 11-2, 11-5, 11-6 win over Ethan Yan. De La Vega is 5-2, playing all seven matches at No. 4.
  • In the No. 5 spot, junior Roberto Vega topped Dhairya Shah, 12-10, 11-5, 11-7.
  • Sophomore Javier De La Vega knocked off Preston Crawford, 11-9, 11-5, 11-2.
  • First-year Matthew Aldana cruised to an 11-4, 11-5, 11-5 win in the No. 8 spot.
  • In the closest match of the day, Zachary Idinopulos edged Angel Ripolles, 11-7, 6-11, 11-5, 8-11, 11-4.
