The nationally-ranked Hobart and William Smith Colleges squash teams will head to Maine to kick off the 2024 portion of their schedules. On Sunday, HWS will take on Bowdoin in Brunswick at 4 p.m. The next day they will head to Watervile to take on Colby at noon. HWS will wrap up its trip on Tuesday against Bates at 11 a.m.

The Statesmen and Herons enter 2024 ranked 17th in their respective College Squash Association Polls. Bowdoin is ranked 26th in the men's poll and 18th in the women's poll, Colby is 13th in the men's poll and 25th in the women's poll and Bates is 25th in the men's poll and 19th in the women's poll.

Hobart is 1-4 on the season. On Dec. 1, the Statesmen upset then No. 13 Rochester 5-4. It was Hobart's first win over the Yellowjackets since 2005. First-year Dihrren Rajarathinam leads the Statesmen with a 4-1 record. He has played all five matches in the No. 3 spot. Senior

William Smith is 1-2 to start the year. They swept Mount Holyoke College 9-0 on Nov. 19. They also took on then No. 9 Cornell and then No. 12 Tufts to open the year. Sophomore
Nathalie Sim is 2-1, playing in the No. 3 spot of the lineup.

Bowdoin's men's team is 1-1 entering the weekend and will take on Wesleyan on Saturday. The Polar Bears beat Brown 5-4 in their season opener and were swept by Trinity. Nick Wilkinson is 1-1 in the No. 1 spot. Bowdoin's women's team is 1-0. They opened the year with a 6-3 victory over Bates. They will also face the Cardinals on Saturday.

Colby's men's team is 2-1 with wins over MIT and Brown. The Mules have five players in their lineup that are 2-1, including Inwoo Lee in the No. 1 spot. Colby's women's team is 1-0 after beating Northeastern 6-3 to open the year. The Mules won 3-0 in the top five spots of the lineup.

Bates' men's team enters 2024 0-3. They were swept by Franklin and Marshall and Trinity. Alec Spiro and Nicolai Boe had wins in the Bobcats' 7-2 loss to Navy. Bates' women's team is 1-2. The Bobcats opened the season with a 5-4 win over the Diplomats before losing to Georgetown and Bowdoin. Andrea Martagon is 2-1 in the No. 1 spot.
