The 17th-ranked Hobart College squash team was defeated by 13th-ranked Colby College 8-1 at the Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center this afternoon. First-year Dhirren Rajarathinam picked up the point for the Statesmen.

• Rajarathinam won his team-leading fifth match of the season, sweeping Jonathan Sosa in the No. 3 spot. Rajarathinam won 11-8, 11-9, 11-7. He is 5-1 on the season.
• Roberto Vega had a hard-fought battle in the No. 5 spot but was edged by Sen Subramaniam, 11-13, 11-5, 12-10, 11-7.

 
FOR THE MULES

• Colby swept seven matches.
• Inwoo Lee improved to 3-1 in the No. 1 spot with an 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 victory.

Hobart will be back in action tomorrow, Jan. 9, when it heads to Lewiston to take on 25th-ranked Bates College.
