#18 Herons, Brewers battle to scoreless draw

GENEVA, N.Y.—The 18th-ranked William Smith soccer team and Vassar battled to a scoreless draw in a Liberty League contest on Cozzens Field this afternoon.  With the draw, the Herons are now 6-3-3 overall this season and 2-1-2 in the Liberty League. Vassar is now 7-2-3 overall with a record of 2-1-1 in conference play.
 
Graduate Student Kirsten Nelson played all 90 minutes in goal for Vassar. She made five saves as she earned her fifth shutout of the season.
 
Laura Shea started in goal for Vassar and made seven saves.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Senior Lexi Hasbrouck nearly broke the deadlock in the 59th minute when her shot off a free kick got caught up in the wind and nearly beat Shea.
