Hobart hosts RPI, Union to conclude homestand

The Hobart soccer team will conclude a three-game homestand this weekend, Oct. 18-19, when it welcomes Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Union to Cozzens Field for a pair of Liberty League games. The games conclude a stretch where the Statesmen played six of their last seven matches on Cozzens Field.
 
Hobart will take on the Engineers Friday at 4 p.m. and the Garnet Chargers Saturday at 2 p.m. Fans who can't make it to Geneva can follow all the action with HWS All-Access and Live Stats. Both games will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).
 
ABOUT THE STATESMEN
  • Hobart enters the weekend with a 2-5-4 overall record and a 1-2-2 mark in Liberty League play.
  • The Statesmen are looking to build on a 2-0 win over Utica on Sunday.
  • Sophomore La Zai Outerbridge leads the team with three goals and seven points. He scored the game-winning goal against the Pioneers.
  • Junior Thomas Chyzowych has played every minute in goal. He has a 1.00 GAA and a .744 save percentage with three shutouts.

  • Colin Such has played a majority of the minutes in goal. He is 3-8-1 with a 1.25 GAA and a .737 save percentage.

  • Tomorrow's game will be the 57th meeting between Hobart and RPI.
  • The Engineers lead the all-time series 29-26-6, including a 14-11-3 record in Geneva.
  • Last year in the semifinals of the Liberty League tournament, Hobart won 4-2 in overtime on Cozzens Field.

  • Union enters the weekend with a 4-5-4 record and a 0-1-2 mark in league play.
  • The Garnet Chargers will be at Ithaca on Friday.

  • Saturday's game will be the 37th meeting between Hobart and Union.
