#20 Herons host Bard on Saturday

The 20th-ranked William Smith soccer team returns home on Saturday, Oct. 26, when it takes on Bard in a Liberty League contest. The opening kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on Cozzens Field.
 
After playing five of their last six games on the road, the Herons will close out the regular season playing two of three on their home field.
 
Fans who can't make the trip to Geneva can follow all the action with HWS-All Access and Live Stats. The game will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva). 
 
ABOUT THE HERONS
  • William Smith is 8-3-3 overall, with a mark of 4-1-2 in conference play.
  • Junior Ruth Hotalling leads the team with seven assists and 13 points. She scored all three goals for the Herons last weekend in the Capital District.
  • Senior Marjorie Plants has a team-high five goals.
  • Graduate student Kirsten Nelson has played the majority of the minutes in goal. She has a 0.80 GAA and .776 save percentage.
 
ABOUT THE RAPTORS
  • Bard is 3-10-1 overall with a 0-7-0 record in Liberty League play.
  • Waleska Brito leads the Raptors with seven goals and 15 points.
  • Carina Cooke has a team-high three assists and is second on the team with nine points.
  • Seymone Rosenberg has played the most minutes of the rostered goalies. She is 1-9-0 with a GAA of 5.31 and a .609 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Saturday will be the 12th meeting between the Herons and the Raptors.
  • William Smith has won all 11 meetings so far outscoring Bard 57-1.
  • Last year, the Herons won 3-0 at Bard. Seneca Blakely-Armitage '24 had two goals and an assist in the win.

  • Entering the weekend, the top five spots in conference standings are separated by four points.
  • Ithaca is first in the league with 15 points. The Herons are second with 14.
