GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith bowling team will host the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Round Robin No. 1 Nov. 16-17 at Sunset Bowl. Eight teams will compete in seven traditional matches each in the first step to earn a berth in the AMCC Championship in March.
The Herons are the defending AMCC Champions and this year's preseason favorite. William Smith is led by senior
Michaela Morgan. The 2023-24 AMCC Bowler of the Year and this year's preseason Bowler of the Year holds the program record for highest traditional game with a 245 earlier this season.
The Herons will play four matches on Saturday. Their first match will be against Hilbert at 10 a.m. William Smith won all six matches against the Hawks last year, including three traditional matches. The Herons will also take on Saint Vincent, Alvernia and La Roche.
Sunday's action is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. The Herons will face Penn State Behrend in their first match of the day. William Smith is 6-2 all-time against the Lions, but PSU Behrend defeated the Herons 842-811 in a traditional match last Saturday. William Smith will conclude the round robin with matches against Pitt-Greensburg and Pitt-Bradford.
The Herons improved to 14-14 this past weekend, winning St. Vincent's Lacey Memorial Tournament and finishing third in La Roche's Unicorn Classic. First-year
Brooke Gervais was at the top of her game in the Lacey Memorial Tournament, posting three 200-games.
